Undyne

Royal Guard (and Royal Guardian), Undyne lives in Old Home and pretty much runs the Orphanae, taking into consideration the Old Royal Couple's advanced ages.

Given her often close proximity to young children both monster and human, she is usually in her casual wear. Pointy edges do not mix well with curious fingers.

She teaches her wards combat and defense. At times she goes a little overboard, but no one ever gets seriously hurt. Most of her studens share her overzealous sense of enthusiasm.

The music genre this derivative was based off of is Twee-Pop (“The definition of twee is something “excessively or affectedly quaint, pretty, or sentimental,” supposedly born from a childish mispronunciation of the word sweet.[4] With the twee movement’s embrace of innocence and femininity, the genre has strong associations with feminism.“ -Wikipedia).

She’s a combination of sweet and feisty. While more mellow than the original Undyne, she’ll still totally kick your ass.

Those stats are when she isn’t wearing her armor. Her armor, of course, buffs her defense by Quite A Lot (+30).

She is besties with Papyrus.

Due to Waterfall having long since (before her time) become a fungus-infested mess, she was born in and lives in the Ruins.

She’s the one who deals with Bunny whenever he comes by to drop off the Old King’s medicine. Her opinion on the Royal Scientist is ‘neutral, but standoffish.’ She doesn’t really understand why Papyrus avoids the guy as diligently as he does, but she trusts his intuition.

Her magic and attack patterns are the same as vanilla Undyne’s.

During Bunny’s Era she doesn’t see Shelphys very often, but she does have a bit of a crush on her. Unfortunately she is under the impression that it’s one-sided when it isn’t.

During Fuse’s Era, she sees Shelphys much more often, and they eventually get together. Shortly after the Barrier is destroyed, they get married.

She’s one, single inch away from being six feet tall.

Fungyne

What happens when you give your fishwife a not-entirely thoroughly tested magibiogenetically engineered, fungal organ? A hostile takeover when it achieves sentience and gradually takes over your fishwife's body.

Fungyne isn't necessarily hostile, exactly; she is simply doing what comes naturally to her: absorbing monsters into her hivemind and expanding her influence. She doesn't understand why they resist. Everything is much simpler when she's in control - there are no more disagreements when you're all one person, no more fighting...

A feral force of nature–at least at first.

Undyne isn’t there anymore, it’s just the fungus.

When the fungus takes root in someone, she is able to slowly absorb their memories as well as take control of them. Fortunately she can’t control the order or priority of the memories she absorbs; unfortunately in some alternative timelines she manages to absorb Fuse’s memories of stories about other AUs.

While she is perfectly able to control the body she inhabits, the external bodies she controls don’t move quite right. They move akin to marionettes controlled by someone with shaky, jerky hands.

There is no extricating the fungus from Undyne; unlike those she infests, she “is” Undyne now - the fungus infested her soul. Removing the fungus would shatter her soul and, therefore, kill the body.

However, the fungus can be removed from the infected without much damage to them provided it is removed in a timely manner.

Her mature fungal growths don’t need to be inside of a monster for her to see or hear from them. They can just be growing on a building, or from the ground, or anywhere, really.

She can only infect monsters. Turns out human bodies don’t really continue to function well if a foreign body grows inside of, and out of, them…

In the original, unaltered timeline, she’s eventually ‘domesticated’ by Shelphys.

In timelines wherein she learns about the multiverse, however, she becomes an expansionist scourge and she uses a hiveminded Fuse as her avatar to invade other AUs. Sanses seem popular for some reason, so she thinks he might be a more accepted face - but also, why would she put herself in questionable and potentially dangerous situations? That’s just dumb.

Shel seems uneasy about getting close to her even after she’s ‘domesticated,’ but Fungyne doesn’t really seem to care about her discomfort and ends up getting really clingy.

She acts sort of like a cat.
